There are a few books I think every diver should read. There are also books that every adventurer should read, some of these books do bring the dangers of diving into light but the true stories and heartaches are what make these stories so incredible. Here are a few I would recommend:
Shadow Divers by Robert Kurson
The Last Dive by Bernie Chowdhury
Fatal Depth by Joe Haberstroh
SCUBA Diving the Wrecks and Shores of Long Island, NY by David Rosenthal
The Treasure by Kathleen Harrison
If you cannot go diving this summer or have not been able to get certified yet, why not take you mind scuba diving for you. All of these books are amazing stories of teh difficulties and the rewards of diving. So dive in...to a good book. (yes i know that was very corny, but I had to do it)

- Hey guys my name is Brianna and I love scuba diving. I have only been certified for a year and not living on a tropical island can make it seem like there are not any real opportunities to go diving. However, just because there is not 100 ft visibility does not mean it cannot be fun. I live in Rhode Island and currently go to College at University of Rhode Island. I first became interested in Scuba Diving a few years ago back in high school. I began to talk to family and friends about diving and did not realize how many people I had known were already certified and the experiences they said they had and what an amazing feeling it was to be underwater, was beyond words. I started taking out books and learning more and more about scuba diving, when finally for my graduation gift, my parents signed me up for classes. I was so excited, the minute I put that mask on and took my first breath underwater I was hooked. I wanted the dive right in (no pun intended) and never stop. A lot of people are taken aback by the amount of risks and horror stories but if scuba diving is done right, there is nothing to fear.
